| About the Center for Gender and Law Studies, the CASS

The Center for Gender and Law Studies mainly conducts studies on the theories and practices the relationship between gender and law. It is a discipline full of challenges and requires multi-disciplinary approach.
Appearing in the West in 1960s, the concept of gender got a momentum after the 1995 Beijing World Conference and has been laid down in many international documents. It becomes one of the hottest topics in the international human rights field and also in the women's liberation move. By using this concept, we have taken a rather new research approach and developed a new analysis framework.
